| Notes: | Book cover on the theme "Battles, Borders, Books" produced for the WSD National Exhibition at Hay on Wye in October 2024. The basic fabric was a dye blanket used in ecoprinting. I quilted round the leaves then machine-quilted from the wrong side with dyed crochet cotton in the bobbin. I even managed to put "Battles Borders Books" on the edge in mirror writing. I then used dyed yarns to weave an inkle woven band with inlay representing the Ordinance Survey symbol for battles, and some wider yarns representing a bookshelf - leaving the middle section of leaves to represent a flower border. |
