| Notes: | Antique embroidered muslin tablecloth - An inherited muslin tablecloth (previously much darned) which I accidentally tore in the 1980s was repaired again and then breakdown printed with a picture of the Southwell Workhouse using Procion dyes. I was thinking about the "deserving poor" who might end up in the workhouse after a life of service in a big house. Unable to do much, but possibly still allowed to keep a few treasured possessions in their last days Produced for the MTF Identity exhibition at Southwell Workhouse, Summer 2023 |
