| Notes: | Playmat for my second grandson. Based on the AA Milne poem "Jonathan Jo" which my mother used to quote to my son. ...If you ask for a bat, or something like that, he's got it whatever the size is. If you're wanting a ball, it's no trouble at all, why the more that you ask for the merrier. Like a hoop and a top, and a watch that won't stop, and some sweets and an Aberdeen terrier.... The dog has a squeaker, the hoop is glow-in-the-dark, sweets are in a bag with “crackle” fabric. There are tools on a “key ring” – a hammer with a rattle in it, a spanner with a squeaker when it’s moved, and a Vernier gauge with crinkle plastic, a teething ring and a teething key, and a dodecahedral fabric ball. The wheel is attached with a button through the middle, and stiffened with sparkly plastic, so it can be turned. Lots of textures on the quilt, which is reminiscent of a walled garden, but could be any sort of play landscape |
