| Notes: | The third picture in my hedgerows series. Mixed fibres roughly handspun on a drop spindle and plied with shetland yarn, then knitted with cotton knitting ribbon and fancy yarns. The whole piece was then dyed with Procion dyes and then felted in the washing machine. Flowers and ferns were constucted in tatting, needleweaving and machine embroidery, and it was finished with machine and hand embroidery. I entered the nearly-finished picture in the Weavers Spinners & Dyers annual comptetion 2013 (theme "Rock Formations"), and got second prize of 16 entries. |
